Lady Vols basketball’s season has come to a close in the Round of 64 in the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee dropped its matchup with NC State, 76-61, to conclude the year.
This now marks eight consecutive losses for the Lady Vols and defeats in 11 of their last 13 games. After UT made a Sweet 16 run in year one under Kim Caldwell, this year saw one-and-done showings in both the SEC and NCAA Tournaments.
After the loss to the Wolfpack, Caldwell met with the media. She was asked about this upcoming offseason, what went wrong against NC State and more.
Players Talaysia Cooper and Nya Robertson also fielded questions. Cooper led the team in scoring with 24 points to go with six rebounds, two assists and three steals. Robertson added seven points, three rebounds, an assist and steal.
NC State head coach Wes Moore and forward Khamil Pierre and guard Zamareya Jones also met with the media to field questions.
