As Tennessee Basketball gears up for its Sweet 16 matchup against Iowa State on Friday, head coach Rick Barnes and senior Felix Okpara met with the media on Wednesday morning in Knoxville to discuss their thoughts on the upcoming weekend. The 6-seed Vols and 2-seed Cyclones will have the late-night tip-off at 10:10 p.m. ET on Friday night with a spot in the Elite Eight on the line.
Tennessee reached this position by defeating 11-seed Miami (OH) and 3-seed Virginia in the first two rounds last weekend in Philadelphia. Iowa State, on the other hand, reached the second weekend by defeating 15-seed Tennessee State and 7-seed Kentucky in the first two rounds.
During their interviews, both Barnes and Okpara spoke about the journey to the Sweet 16 and what it’s going to take for the Vols to keep the run going. Both also spoke about the challenges that Iowa State will present on Friday.
