Tennessee football is off to a strong start in the 2027 class and is looking to continue building up an elite list of commitments. One of the top targets on the offensive line is Layton von Brandt. In the effort to stay in a good position to land him, UT hosted the tackle for another visit last week.

Out of Middletown, Delaware, von Brandt is considered the No. 59 player in the country, via 247 Composite. He is the No. 6 offensive tackle and No. 1 player from Delaware.

He was previously committed to Penn State, but backed off of the pledge following the firing of James Franklin. He’s keeping the Nittany Lions in consideration, though, as he weighs his options.

Getting von Brandt to campus for a spring visit is a great sign for the Vols, though. He was able to get inside Neyland Stadium, as well.

Tennessee also previously took a trip for a home visit to see von Brandt. Vols offensive line coach Glen Elarbee made his way up the East Coast to see the coveted prospect.

Currently, Tennessee holds six commitments in the 2027 class. This features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.

Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler and in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace. Currently, this group is ranked inside the top-15 on both 247 and Rivals for the young 2027 cycle. More commitments are expected to roll in, as well.
