Lady Vols basketball is going to have to put together possibly an entirely new roster next season. Kim Caldwell’s Tennessee team has already lost six of eight potential returners to the transfer portal and Talaysia Cooper and Jaida Civil are yet to make an announcement either way.
One of the Lady Vols’ targets has announced she has received an offer from UT. Out of the junior college ranks, Esmeralda Enriquez revealed she received an offer on Wednesday, April 1. Enriquez is coming off an NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship with Eastern Arizona. She was named the MVP of the event.
Along with Tennessee, Enriquez has announced offers from Fresno State, Appalachian State, UL Monroe, Bowling Green, Nevada and others.

Last season, Enriquez played in 35 games and started in 31. In 24 minutes per outing, she averaged 15.7 points per game on 45.7% shooting from the field and 44.8% on threes. She also contributed 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest.
Prior to her time at EAC, Enriquez played at North Idaho in the JUCO ranks. She is from Yakima, Washington, and played for Davis High School.
Enriquez stands at a listed 5-foot-8 on EAC’s roster. The guard just finished her sophomore season, so she should have two years of eligibility remaining at her next stop.
This is the first offer to be announced being extended by the Lady Vols this cycle. However, the portal isn’t open yet for standard transfers and won’t open until after the conclusion of the national title game.
