
VCU combo guard Terrence Hill Jr. is visiting Tennessee basketball next weekend, Volquest’s Grant Ramey first reported and a source confirmed to RTI Saturday. Hill plans on beginning his visit on Wednesday, April 15 and leaving on Friday, April 17. Hill is visiting Kansas on Monday before visiting Tennessee.
*Hill arrived in Knoxville for his official visit Wednesday afternoon.
Hill is coming off a standout sophomore year at VCU where he averaged 15 points, 2.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-3 guard is a talented and efficient scorer, shooting 46.6% from the field and made 81 three-pointers at a 37% clip last season.
The Portland native’s 128.3 offensive rating last season would have been the best on Tennessee’s team and ranked 74th nationally. He also posted a solid 23.8% assist rate and 10.2% turnover rate.
Hill earned First Team A10 honors last season with VCU and was stellar in the Rams’ two NCAA Tournament games. The combo guard played all 40 minutes and totaled 34 points, five assists and five rebounds in VCU’s win over North Carolina before totaling 17 points and seven rebounds in the Round of 32 loss against Illinois.

247sports ranks Hill as a four-star transfer and the No. 17 player in the portal while On3 ranks him as a four-star and the No. 23 player in the portal. Hill ranks as a four-star and the No. 119 player in the portal according to EvanMiya.
The Vols need to add guards to their roster this offseason after losing Ja’Kobi Gillespie to graduation as well as Bishop Boswell and Amari Evans to the transfer portal. Tennessee has landed Belmont transfer sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade but is still looking to add more bodies including a point guard.
Tennessee is currently hosting Cal combo guard Dai Dai Ames on a visit as well as Loyola (Chicago) center Miles Rubin.
The Vols currently have seven scholarships to work with as they fill out their roster for next season though if Nate Ament declares for the NBA Draft it would then be eight scholarships available.
