
Star Wake Forest transfer guard Juke Harris committed to Tennessee basketball on Monday morning over Michigan and North Carolina.
One of the most sought-after players in the transfer portal, Harris took an official visit to Michigan before both Tennessee and North Carolina had in-home visits with the star guard after Harris returned home from the visit.
Harris is currently going through the NBA Draft process, though his announcement video included a declaration that he’s going back to school. He projected as either a late first-round or early second-round pick.
Harris is coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 21.4 points on 44.4% shooting from the field and 33.3% shooting from three-point range. The Salisbury, North Carolina native made 87 three-pointers during the 2025-26 season.
The star guard scored 20-plus points in 20 games last season and scored 30-plus points against NC State, Boston College and Cal.
The 6-foot-7, 200-pound guard also added 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He ranked in the top 400 nationally with a 17.6% defensive rebound rate and a 10% turnover rate.

Harris strong performances were enough for him to win ACC Breakout Player of the Year honors and Second Team All-ACC honors.
Harris ranks as a four-star and the No. 8 player in the transfer portal according to 247sports. On3 ranks Harris as a four-star and the No. 4 player in the transfer portal while EvanMiya ranks him as a five-star and the No. 27 player in the transfer portal.
Tennessee nearly landed Harris out of high school when the then-four-star recruit chose the Demon Deacons over the Vols and others.
Harris is the seventh player to commit to Tennessee basketball out of the transfer portal, joining Belmont sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade, Cal combo guard Dai Dai Ames, Loyola (Chicago) center Miles Rubin, VCU combo guard Terrence Hill Jr, Notre Dame wing Jalen Haralson and Kennesaw State forward Braedan Lue.
Rick Barnes and his staff are looking to replace a number of perimeter players with Ja’Kobi Gillespie out of eligibility, Nate Ament off to the NBA and both Bishop Boswell and Amari Evans entering the transfer portal. Tennessee has to replace two players who averaged 16-plus points per game. Harris gives the Vols a high-level scorer and a potential First Team All-SEC selection.
With Harris in the fold, Tennessee now has two scholarships to work with as it fills out its roster for next season.
