Tennessee football is one of the top schools remaining in the hunt to land a talented cornerback recruit. Earlier in April, three-star prospect Trenton Blaylock announced that he will no longer be taking an official visit to Arkansas and has trimmed his list down to eight schools.
This group features a list of the top programs across the sport. It included the Vols, TCU, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Vanderbilt, Florida State and Alabama.
Blaylock is listed as a three-star prospect by 247 Composite. He is the No. 550 player, No. 57 cornerback and No. 77 player from the Lone Star State.
In the recruiting process, there are a lot of business decisions to make, and they’re not always easy. With that being said, I will be canceling my official visit to the University of Arkansas. Blaylock initially received his offer from the previous defensive staff at Tennessee. His primary recruiter was Willie Martinez, who was not retained after the firing of Tim Banks. Now, his primary is likely newly hired cornerbacks coach Derek Jones.
Currently, Tennessee holds six commitments in the 2027 class. This features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.
Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler and in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace. Currently, this group is ranked inside the top-15 on both 247 and Rivals for the young 2027 cycle. More commitments are expected to roll in, as well.
