Tennessee Football landed a commitment from three-star prospect Brandon “Slim” Leavell on Monday evening. The in-state prospect chose Tennessee over Florida, Clemson, Florida State, and NC State.
Leavell won’t have to go far to get on Tennessee’s campus in the future. He comes from Goodpasture High School in Madison, TN, which is located northeast of Nashville and is just under three hours away from Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.
The 2027 prospect is now Tennessee’s eighth commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
247Sports’ Composite Rankings tag Leavell as a three-star prospect in the 2027 cycle. He ranks as the No. 603 player in the nation, the No. 44 athlete in the class, and the No. 28 player out of the state of Tennessee. Additionally, Rivals ranks Leavell as the No. 76 cornerback in the cycle.
During the 2025 season at Goodpasture, Leavell played on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and a cornerback. According to MaxPreps, he finished the year with 735 yards and 12 touchdowns on 35 catches, and also added in four interceptions on defense. Leavell’s highlight reel shows off the impressive athleticism that he’ll bring to Rocky Top in the future, and it appears likely that he’ll be tagged for a role in the secondary with the Vols.
