Tennessee, the 10th seed in the tournament, will be taking on 15-seed South Carolina in the opening round on Tuesday afternoon. The game is set for 5:30 p.m. ET, though the game time could be moved back if the game before it winds up running long.
The winner of the game will advance to the second round to take on 7-seed Arkansas at 5:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
With it only being a short stretch since their regular season-ending series against Oklahoma, the Vols and head coach Josh Heupel will roll with an SEC All-Freshman Team selection on the mound.
“We’ll roll with Appy (Cam Appenzeller) to start,” Elander said on Monday. “He’ll be our starting pitcher tomorrow (vs. South Carolina). He’s a guy we’re excited about when we get down there. I know he likes the big moment.”
