Teasley, a third baseman and right-handed pitcher, committed to Tennessee baseball in the fall of 2024 when he chose Tennessee over LSU, Auburn and others. He went on to win Mr. Baseball honors in his junior year before sticking to his commitment and signing with the Vols following Tony Vitello’s departure to the San Fransisco Giants and Josh Elander’s promotion to head coach.

Teasley is picking up right where he left off in this week’s state tournament. Despite Oak Ridge dropping its opening game against Houston 11-8 on Tuesday, Teasley is 6-for-6 with a walk and three RBIs in his first seven plate appearances in the tournament according to 5Star Preps.
Tennessee baseball signed 14 prep recruits during the November signing period despite the coaching change shortly before the signing period. Elander and his staff added one of their most important commits this spring when highly-rated Jared Grindlinger, the younger brother of Trent Grindlinger, committed to the Vols.
The Vols boast 12 signees in the top 150 of Perfect Game’s class of 2026 rankings.
