Tennessee basketball freshman phenom Nate Ament is preparing for his upcoming NBA career. After one season with the Vols, he has declared for the draft and is widely considered a projected top-10 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
While he waits to hear his name called, Ament is going through workouts to make sure he’s ready for the jump to the NBA. On Thursday, a video was released of him working with another projected top pick, BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, going through drills with Zach Gonzales.
The video featured highlights of the pair getting shots up, including not just from NBA range, but well beyond the 3-point line.

More From RTI: CBS Sports, ESPN Aligned on Nate Ament’s Projected NBA Draft Position
In ESPN’s updated NBA mock draft following the combine, Dybantsa is projected to go first overall to the Washington Wizards. The 6-foot-8 forward is coming off a freshman season that saw him average 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game on 51% shooting.
The mock draft has Ament going 10th overall to the Milwaukee Bucks. In his freshman year in Knoxville, Ament averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game on 39.9% shooting from the field.
“Ament was polarizing for teams all season, with some evaluators still enamored with his size and skill, while others view him as a theoretical prospect and are concerned with his struggles in college,” ESPN’s Jeremy Woo wrote in the mock draft. “In either case, he’s a ways away from impacting winning at the NBA level, which makes him a bit more fit-specific to teams that have minutes available and a runway to develop him.”
Other Tennessee prospects projected to be drafted are center Felix Okpara to the Denver Nuggets at No. 49 and point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie to the Golden State Warriors at No. 54.
