On Saturday, Oak Ridge native Tee Higgins held the ‘Tee Higgins Celebrity Game’ at Oak Ridge High School. In attendance featured a number of former NFL and NBA stars, including the likes of Chad Johnson, John Wall, Jauan Jennings and more.
One of the attendees was also an incoming Tennessee basketball signee. A four-star in the 2026 class and on his way to join Rick Barnes’ UT program, Chris Washington Jr. was a part of the event.
Before the game, he showed off the elite athleticism he’s bringing to Knoxville and threw down some monster dunks.

“We are happy to add Chris to a high school class that we are really enthused about. Chris is a truly special athlete and, without a doubt, one of the finest in the country at the prep level,” Barnes said. “He is particularly impactful in transition and leaping off one foot. He can also stretch the floor and knock down 3-point shots, as well as grab offensive rebounds. At the defensive end, Chris has all the tools to become elite and is someone who can guard four positions. We always prioritize keeping talented players in-state and feel Chris will fit in well here on Rocky Top.”
Washington, a 6-foot-9 forward, is initially from Gainesville, Florida, but attended Providence Christian Academy in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is ranked as the No. 33 player in the country by Rivals, which slots him at No. 11 among small forwards, as well.
Washington is one of four incoming freshmen signed to UT for next season. He joins four-stars Manny Green and Ralph Scott and three-star Marquis Clark.
