Tennessee football is hosting a class of 2027 recruiting target for the second time in just a few weeks span for a visit. This time, Robert ‘Tre’ Geathers III is on campus for his official visit to see the Vols.
Geathers was previously on campus for the popular 865 Live event. Along with other top targets, he made the trip for the event on May 23. Then, last weekend, he went south to check out Florida on an official visit before returning to UT this weekend. Up next, he’ll look at South Carolina next weekend and Georgia the weekend after on officials.
Geathers is a linebacker out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Playing for Providence Day School, Geathers was a sophomore in 2024 on the same team that Vols starting offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. starred for. The team went 9-3 and reached the finals of North Carolina NCISAA Division 1 playoffs.

Geathers ranks as a three-star recruit on 247 Composite. He sits as the No. 565 player in the class of 2027 and the No. 18 player from the state of North Carolina, which Josh Heupel has recruited extremely well in his Tennessee tenure. Geathers’ primary recruiter is Vols linebackers coach William Inge.
He comes from a line of proven football players, as well. Geathers’ father was a defensive end at Georgia from 2001-03 before being selected in the fourth round of the NFL draft and playing 10 years in the league. His grandfather was a defensive lineman at South Carolina State before being picked in the third round of the 1981 NFL Draft. His great uncle was a defensive lineman at Wichita State and was picked in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft.
Currently, Tennessee owns 10 commitments in the cycle. This group is good for the No. 37 class in the nation and holds a trio of four-star commits on 247.
