Tennessee Basketball’s transfer portal group was named the top class in the nation by ESPN’s Jeff Borzello on Tuesday, thanks to talented offensive additions such as Dai Dai Ames and Jalen Haralson. The two Tennessee transfers spoke to the media for the first time on Tuesday, detailing their recruitment to Knoxville and their goals for the team next season.
Ames, a 6-foot-2 point guard, comes to Tennessee after spending his first three seasons at Kansas State, Virginia, and Cal. He put together his best season last year, averaging 16.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists for the Golden Bears.
Haralson, meanwhile, arrives in Knoxville after spending his freshman season with Notre Dame. Tabbed as one of the premier young players in the country, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists for the Fighting Irish last season.
While speaking to the media in Knoxville on Tuesday, both players talked about why they chose the Vols, what excites them about the roster moving forward, interactions with Rick Barnes and the coaching staff, and much more.
