Tulane transfer outfielder Jason Wachs is visited Tennessee baseball on Wednesday, Fox Sports Knoxville and RTI co-owner Bob Baskerville first reported Wednesday.
Wachs is coming off a standout sophomore season at Tulane where he slashed .327/.453/.574 with nine home runs, 21 doubles and 54 RBIs. The Pembroke Pines, Florida native mostly started in right field during his sophomore season but is also capable of playing centerfield.
Outfield is a huge priority for Tennessee this offseason. The Vols lost Reese Chapman to graduation, likely use Garrett Wright to the MLB Draft and lost both Jay Abernathy and Nate Eisfelder to the transfer portal. Besides Blaine Brown, Tennessee will have to replace the rest of its outfield production from this past season.
The Vols missed on Samford outfielder Jake Souders who visited Tennessee last week before committing to Mississippi State on Tuesday.

A number of Tennessee players have announced intentions to return for next season including RHP Landon Mack, LHP Cam Appenzeller, first baseman Levi Clark, catcher Trent Grindlinger, catcher Stone Lawless and LHP Will Haas.
