Tennessee football is looking to bolster its 2027 recruiting class and has been hosting top prospects across the country on official visits over the past month. This included a five-star athlete, Xavier Sabb, who was in Knoxville for his official visit this past weekend, according to his Instagram story.
Sabb is going through a string of official visits as he narrows in on his commitment. According to 247, he started by seeing LSU, went to UCLA next, then Tennessee and will see Oregon next weekend.
Sabb ranks as a five-star on ESPN and Rivals Industry. ESPN places him as the No. 18 player in the country. Rivals Industry has him as the No. 30 player, No. 5 athlete and No. 2 from the state of New Jersey with five-star status. Sabb plays for Glassboro High School in Glassboro, New Jersey.

Sabb is multi-positional and has the skillsets to make an impact at the college level in multiple spots. However, it seems Tennessee sees him as a wide receiver. His primary recruiter is Vols passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope.
During Sabb’s official visit, he was also in touch with Tennessee five-star freshman wide receiver TK Keys. Having that peer recruiter could go a long way as another former highly-recruited prospect.
“Electric highlight tape and a player who gets it done in all three phases of the game,” 247 director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Could probably play inside receiver at the next level, but like the potential as a split safety. Ideally will get more context in regards to man-to-man coverage ability. Simply moves at a different speed than others and flashes big-time ball skills on both sides of the ball. Proven to be a slick mover with the agility to create separation at the top of routes. Also shifty in tight quarters with the ball in his hands. Dangerous as a return man, as well, as he slices through traffic.”
Tennessee currently holds 15 commitments in the 2027 class and sits outside the top 25 nationally in both 247 and Rivals rankings.
