Former Tennessee Baseball Star Andrew Fischer Called Up, Visiting Knoxville Soon

One of the brightest stars of the 2025 Tennessee baseball team, Andrew Fischer, is getting called up. The former Vols first baseman and versatile infielder is moving from Single-A Wisconsin Timber to Double-A Biloxi Shuckers within the Milwaukee Brewers’ system, according to a report from Chase Ford.

Fischer is hitting. 298 on the season with 20 home runs, 50 RBI and 51 runs. He also owns an on-base percentage of .443 and an OPS of 1.118.

Now, Fischer joins another former star Vols first baseman. Blake Burke, who won the national title in 2024 with UT, is also rostered on the Double-A Biloxi Suckers roster. The pair are scheduled to be in Knoxville to play the Smokies from July 7-12.

Fischer was phenomenal in his lone year with Tennessee. He posted a .341 batting average while reaching base in every single game during the 2025 campaign. He also produced 25 home runs, 65 RBI and 70 runs in 65 starts and appearances.

For his season, Fischer was a First-Team All-American and All-SEC First-Team member. He would go on to be selected 20th overall in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Prior to his time under Tony Vitello at Tennessee, Fischer spent a season at Ole Miss and Duke. With the Rebels, he was an All-SEC Second-Team member. With the Blue Devils, he was a Second-Team Freshman All-American and ACC All-Freshman Team member.

Fischer is from Manasquan, New Jersey. He attended Wall Township High School, where he earned 2021 and 2022 All-Division, All-Shore and All-State honors. This past offseason, he also earned the honor of playing for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic.
