Former Tennessee softball starting infielder Ella Dodge has made her decision in the transfer portal. She will be heading to ACC power Florida State. Dodge will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Seminoles after playing three years at UT, which featured a redshirt.
The move to FSU will have Dodge on a team with hopes of getting back to the Women’s College World Series. Florida State finished this past year 52-10 (21-3 ACC) with an ACC title. However, in the Tallahassee Regional, it was upset by UCF to end the season.
This past year with Tennessee, Dodge hit for a .275 average with 50 runs and 46 RBI. She also mashed 11 home runs, 13 doubles and one triple. She appeared in 64 games, starting in each. In the postseason, Dodge served as the team’s starting third baseman and hit toward the top of the order.

More From RTI: Tennessee Baseball Pitcher Announces Transfer Destination
Dodge is one of three Tennessee players to enter the portal so far. The other departures are pitcher Kailey Plumlee and outfielder Saviya Morgan, but neither was a starter. Both are staying in the SEC, with Plumlee picking Alabama and Morgan headed to South Carolina.
Tennessee has already landed an infielder itself through the portal, though. Out of South Carolina, Karley Shelton picked the Lady Vols.
Shelton is entering her senior season and will have one year of eligibility remaining. She brings a proven bat to Tennessee, as well, after having a strong junior year in 2026. In 60 appearances and starts, she hit at a .345 average with seven home runs. She also contributed 40 RBI, 33 runs, 16 doubles and a triple.
