Tennessee shortstop Manny Marin committed to Arkansas baseball out of the transfer portal on Tuesday morning, he announced on his Instagram. Marin was a two-year starter at Tennessee before entering the transfer portal at the conclusion of the 2026 season.

Despite his commitment, there’s a chance Marin never plays at Arkansas. The Florida native is a draft eligible sophomore who could opt to begin his professional career instead of returning to college for his junior season. If Marin does make it to Arkansas, he will join former Tennessee teammate Brayden Krenzel on the Arkansas roster.

Marin started 97 games in two seasons at Tennessee, mostly playing third base during his freshman season before sliding over and playing shortstop in 2026. Marin was a solid defender up the middle, helping the Vols turn in one of the nation’s best fielding percentage.

At the plate, Marin slashed .291/.338/.448 with nine home runs, nine doubles and 43 RBIs. He hit in the six or seven-hole for most of his sophomore season.

Marin’s most notable moment at Tennessee was a negative one. He was unable to get a bunt down on a squeeze play that would have walked off East Carolina in game one of the Chapel Hill Regional.
