Lady Vols basketball is still in the mix for the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2027 class. On Monday, five-star prospect Kaleena Smith announced 11 official visits, according to a report from Dushawn London.
Along with a trip to see Tennessee, Smith will also take visits to Washington, Baylor, Oklahoma, Georgia, Arizona State, Miami, USC, UCLA, UConn and Texas A&M. Her trip to Knoxville is scheduled for September 25, the weekend Tennessee football hosts Texas.
Smith ranks as the top prospect on 247. She is considered a point guard standing at 5-foot-6. She is from Ontario, Canada, where she plays for Ontario Christian.

The Lady Vols may have an ace up their sleeve in her recruitment, as well. She is signed as an adidas athlete, the brand UT just switched to this month. It also means she has a prior connection with Tennessee legend Candace Parker.
Landing Smith would be a significant development for Kim Caldwell and her staff. She previously has reeled in five-stars Mia Pauldo, Jaida Civil and Deniya Prawl, but each transferred after their freshman year. Oliviyah Edwards was also committed this past cycle, but was released from her signing and is now at South Carolina.
“… Her ability to pick her spots to score or distribute does not go unnoticed by her teammates,” 247 director of women’s basketball scouting Brandon Clay wrote in November. “Smith does a good job of keeping them involved throughout the course of the game. That’s not the easiest task for a Point Guard who scores the basketball the way that Smith does. She has legitimate shooting range out past the 25-foot mark.”
Currently, Tennessee holds no commitments in the 2027 class.
