Dark Mode is back on Rocky Top, and the Tennessee Football video team unleashed the new Adidas uniforms in a new social media video.
Tennessee dropped the Dark Mode uniform release video for the all-black uniforms on Thursday morning, capping off the four-day stretch of new Adidas uniform unveilings. The previous days gave the fanbase a look at the orange uniforms on Monday, white uniforms on Tuesday, and Summitt Blue uniforms on Thursday.

There’s no exact answer on which game Tennessee will break out these Dark Mode uniforms during the 2026 season. The Vols’ home game against Kentucky on Nov. 7 seems like a potential candidate, though. It’s a week after Halloween, an SEC rivalry game, and it’s already confirmed to be a night game in Neyland Stadium. It would make a lot of sense, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
“We appreciate adidas recognizing the power of the Tennessee brand and we are excited about the future of this transformative partnership. Both current and future Vols will benefit from this historic deal,” Tennessee HC Josh Heupel said in a statement last week. “adidas is providing us with world-class resources and apparel that will continue to push our brand to the forefront of college football for years to come. We can’t wait to showcase our adidas uniforms this fall.”
Tennessee previously partnered with Adidas from 1995-2015 during a stretch that saw Tennessee football win the 1998 National Championship and the Lady Vols’ basketball program win National Championships in 1996, 97, 98, 2007 and 08. Tennessee made the switch to Nike beginning July 1, 2015, and wore the famous swoop while winning the 2024 College World Series.
