Derrell Scott
Scott is almost taking on mythical status as a player the coaches continue to talk about getting in the game, but it not actually happening. He was, theoretically, available to play against both Georgia and Florida after missing the start of the season with multiple injuries, but the 5-11, 194-pound true freshman didn’t play in either of those tight SEC contests. With Tennessee’s thin margin for error, it makes sense that the coaches were nervous to turn him loose in those games. But surely he sees the field against the Mocs. That’s especially true with Jalen Hurd and Marlin Lane both a little banged up. Both are expected to play this week, but look for Scott to get some touches early in the game and possibly to be the featured back later in the game if the Vols are able to get up by a comfortable margin.
