2016 Emanuel Bridges
Alabama, Florida State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Wisconsin.
Bridges named a top three of Clemson, Ole Miss and Tennessee ahead of his unofficial visit to Tennessee for the Kentucky game in mid-November. After his visit, Bridges took a week to discuss his plans with his family and then committed to Tennessee on Sunday, November 23rd. Bridges then decommitted from Tennessee on the morning of February 12th. He is a player that the Vols will have to continue to recruit over the coming year if they hope to officially ad him to the 2016 class, as more and more schools will continue to try and get involved with the talented linebacker.
RTI Average: 3-stars
Bridges is an explosive and disciplined linebacker that most of the teams he faces try to avoid. Throughout the first highlight tape (junior season), Bridges is seen making most of his plays by chasing down ball carriers from the backside of the play, as most teams elect to run away from his side of the field. However, his sophomore film (second video) shows him making more ‘impact’ plays – before people realized how talented he was. He is very disciplined in his style of play, and while his recognition skills probably aren’t quite where they need to be at this point, once he does recognize a play he reacts with tenacity. His stance and technique is exactly what you look for in an outside linebacker and he is about as sure of a tackler as you’ll find. He does a nice job of shedding blocks and working his way through a crowd to deliver the hit.
