 How He Fits

Joc Bruce is an intriguing commit for the Vols. He is listed as an athlete by all of the major recruiting services and while there may be more than one position he projects at, his ability at the running back position is unquestioned. He may lack ideal size and speed at this time, but he is a natural runner who is only going to get bigger and faster in the near future. The offense he runs at South Doyle is very similar in the running game to what coach Bajakian runs at Tennessee, so if he stays in the backfield the transition should be an easy one.

He must get stronger and work on pass catching ability, but Bruce has the qualities you can’t teach. He is a hard worker with great vision and has the ability to make the first defender miss. It will be interesting to see how he performs over the course of his senior season to determine how he fits in to Tennessee’s program next year.
