Boulware released a top-2 in early August of Ohio State before committing to Tennessee on Saturday, Aug. 23 between those two schools. Being from Fairburn and playing at Creekside, you can bet that Boulware’s former teammates Elliott and Evan Berry played a huge role in recruiting Boulware to Tennessee. Ohio State hasn’t stopped recruiting him since his commitment to the Vols, but the distance from home and ties to current staff and players are certainly weighing heavily in Tennessee’ favor. After some late drama, he signed with the Vols before 9:00 am ET on National Signing Day.

Venzell Boulware is extremely athletic for his size and doesn’t quit on a block until the play is dead. If he gets his hands on a defender, it’s game over. His size and frame will allow him to play guard or tackle at the next level depending on the depth chart. He is, however, the perfect fit for a tackle in Butch Jones’ offense with his extreme athleticism and lean build. Boulware visited Tennessee in the spring, returned for the open practice in mid-August and has been in close contact with the coaching staff since then.
