7. Saban came away looking like a whiner
Alabama’s Nick Saban loves to use Media Days as a platform where he can speak on a couple issues that he wants to see reform in around college football. One of those this year was the early evaluations that the NFL gives out for draft-eligible players. Saban wants those moved until after the season is completely over, suggesting that his players receiving that information in mid-December may have been a distraction as the Tide prepared to face Ohio State in the playoffs. Legitimate point? Maybe. But Saban came off as a bit of a whiner to many – looking like he was making excuses for Alabama’s unexpected loss to the Buckeyes.
