Pick 6: SEC Against the Spread — Week 2

[tps_header][/tps_header]

Les Miles-1

No. 14 LSU (-5) at No. 25 Mississippi State, Saturday, 9:15 pm ET, ESPN

Kevin: Here’s a fun one, Mississippi State really struggled to get going in its opener against Southern Miss as Dak Prescott worked off the off-season ass beating rust to find his form. LSU, meanwhile, didn’t even get to play the opener so they now have to overcome their first-game jitters against a conference opponent on the road, without John Chavis! We aren’t predicting the Over/Under in this column but TAKE THE UNDER 49! This game probably won’t be interesting, and I think LSU might win it outright, but Mississippi State +5 is my pick.

John: First, I’m confused as to what this “off-season ass beating rust” is all about, but it sounds serious. I hope Dak’s taking an antibiotic or something. But next, there is nothing that justifies LSU going on the road with a brand new DC in what KH just pointed out is now their season opener against a team that touts a Heisman trophy hopeful / one of the SEC’s best players at QB. I hate that we keep agreeing, but I’m all over the points and Mississippi State. Still, I threw up the picture of Les Miles atop this page because he makes me smile.
