Overall
Overall, the Vols now sit at 2-3 with the season firmly resting on the brink of total disaster. The same problems that we saw in week one are still present, and the team actually appears to be regressing in multiple areas as the season unfolds. This team is talented, but predictable, and the coaching staff’s refusal to adjust their schemes to fit personnel continue to haunt a team that many thought would at least compete for the SEC Easter Division crown. The Vols are now staring down the barrel of a 2-5 start, which means that they will once again need a 4-1 finish over their last five games if they hope to reach bowl eligibility.
Last night was Bret Bielema’s first road win in the SEC, and his first win at Arkansas in a one-possession game. The fact that those feats both came at the hands of this Tennessee team make last night’s loss a tough pill to swallow.
