Pick 6: SEC Against the Spread — Week 8

[tps_header][/tps_header]

Towles-1

Kentucky at Mississippi State (-11), Saturday, 7:30 pm, SEC Network

Kevin: This is, in my opinion, the easiest line of the weekend (FADE ALERT). The Wildcats are probably due a game where they just get blown out, but Mississippi State will need to play better than it has so far this season to win by 11. I predict the Fighting Cowbells win by a touchdown, take Kentucky +11.

John: I’m not sure it’s the easiest line of the week. (IMO, the Ole Miss game we disagreed on is…) But this isn’t one that gives me much pause. Could Kentucky get blown out? Yes. But Mississippi State hasn’t exactly been blowing folks out this year. And despite the fact that Kentucky probably isn’t going to finish much better than middle of the pack in a mediocre SEC East, they’re still a much improved team. They have a lot to play for and they’ll give State all it wants. In the end, and true to nature, Dogs beat the Cats, but not by 11. Take the points and Kentucky.
