That was not very pretty. Wins are always good. Bowl eligibility is always good as well. The defense was solid for much of the afternoon, but in a game that the Vols should’ve won by 40-plus according to Vegas and most experts, Tennessee was sluggish and didn’t take care of business in the manner it should’ve. Starters had to play well into the second half – costing an opportunity to get some of them a bit more rested as the Vols face a physical finish to the schedule against Missouri and Vanderbilt. Deduction for the field condition as well – that must be fixed sooner than later. It was embarrassment on Saturday.
