Butch Jones dropped a couple teasers about what is to come during Saturday’s Orange and White Game festivities, but didn’t fill in many of the details.

And much of that speculation has shifted to Tennessee great Peyton Manning and a possible appearance in some capacity on Saturday. UT has confirmed that in any way, but we do know he’s scheduled to be in Bristol on Sunday for the Food City 500, so a swing by Knoxville on Saturday would make a lot of sense. Perhaps he’ll jump into the quarterback competition and see how he stacks up with the Vols’ current QBs.
As for the “special announcement,” it could be anything, but some have wondered if it’s time to build a Manning statue on campus.
We ran a poll in conjunction with RTI Radio on Tuesday and, as of Wednesday morning, nearly 90% of voters say it’s time to build a statue for the two-time Super Bowl champ.
