For the first time since 2005, Tennessee has been selected by the league’s media to win the SEC East at SEC Media Days.
The Vols received 225 first-place votes in the East and a total of 2,167 votes on that side of the conference.
The Vols finished third overall in SEC Championship voting with 29 total selections, falling behind LSU and the overwhelming favorite, Alabama.
Not surprisingly, Alabama and LSU led the way over on the West side of the conference.
