Jalen Reeves-Maybin/Al Wilson
Reeves-Maybin and Wilson have followed similar career trajectories through three years. Both were reserves and special teamers as freshmen. Both then were huge contributors their sophomore and juniors season. Through three years, JRM actually comes out ahead in the most notable stat categories:
Wilson: 195 tackles, 7 sacks, 17 TFLs
Reeves-Maybin: 220 tackles, 8 sacks, 25 TFLs
Of course, Wilson’s leadership and intimidation factor may never be matched by any linebacker at UT. But if JRM has another big year and leads a top-10 defense that wins big, he easily could be remembered in a similar way.
