Our Tennessee Season Predictions Are In

at Texas A&M, Oct. 8

TexasAM

Daniel: Despite the turmoil A&M has found itself in for the past six months or so, and its inability to stop the run in 2015, I just can’t see Tennessee winning this football game for some reason. The Vols haven’t won on the road in the West since 2007, and have struggled going on the road to new venues in recent years as well. It’ll be loud, the Aggies are deeper at receiver than the Vols are in the secondary in my opinion, and I’m calling for the slight upset in what very well could be a shootout.

Pick: 38-35 A&M

Nathanael: This game has all the makings of a letdown game. In my picks, the Vols have just won big games against Florida and Georgia and will be riding high. Then they travel to one of the toughest stadiums to play in in the country and will have to play a tough team. Texas A&M is probably one of the biggest mysteries before the seasons starts, but they have potential. They’ve not been good at winning big games since Johnny Manziel left, but I just don’t have a great feeling about this game.

Pick: 31-23 Texas A&M

Stephen: A lot of people think this is Tennessee’s biggest trap game. And it makes sense, doesn’t it? The Aggies boast a genuine home field advantage in College Station. And they have legitimate talent all over the field on both sides of the ball. The biggest question mark will be new transfer quarterback Trevor Knight – who has already beaten Tennessee once while at Oklahoma. Still, this is the same Texas A&M team that lost to Auburn at home last year and to Louisville in their bowl game. It will be close, and likely frustrating at times – similar to the Georgia game last year. But this Aggies team has been on a downward spiral for a couple of years now. I don’t expect that to change against the Vols.

Pick: 35-24 Tennessee
