10 Freshman Who Can Contribute Immediately for the Vols

Josh Palmer

The Vols needed one of their freshmen receivers to come in and stand out in fall camp, and Josh Palmer has done just that.

Tennessee’s receiving corps is chock full of young talent. Aside from Jauan Jennings, Josh Smith, and Jeff George, the rest of the wide receiver group is made of players who are sophomores or younger. Tyler Byrd, Marquez Callaway, Brandon Johnson, and Latrell Williams all figure to be the first in line behind Jennings to contribute this season, but Palmer is more than making his case to be thrown into the rotation.

Palmer has shown off very strong natural ability so far in fall camp, and he has a good understanding of route running as well. Palmer will be hard to keep off the field as a freshman even with talented and more experienced players in his group.

  1. Shamburger will be the biggest gem & he’ll outplay many that were rated a lot higher than him over the next 3 to 5 years.
