Defensive Line
The Vols’ defensive line finally was able to turn in a strong performance. Darrell Taylor, Kyle Phillips, and Shy Tuttle all looked good against a capable Southern Miss offense. The absence of Jonathan Kongbo was barely felt. Taylor had two sacks and forced a fumble while Phillips also totaled two sacks and five tackles. Tuttle had five tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
