Tennessee’s 2018 recruiting class is down to just 11 commitments after a slew of decomitments over the last month. And none of those commitments are wide receivers.

The Vols have a good amount of young receivers on their roster, but they can’t go a full cycle without adding a few. Tennessee is losing Jeff George and Josh Smith off the roster for the 2018 season, and the status of Jauan Jennings is still uncertain. If Jennings isn’t back on the roster next season, the Vols won’t have a scholarship receiver who is a redshirt junior or true senior on the roster.

Tennessee needs to add a couple receivers in this class to provide some immediate depth and to prepare for the future. Tennessee did pick up a recommitment from four-star athlete and projected receiver Alontae Taylor on Wednesday, and four-star receiver Jacob Copeland is a big focus for the Vols in this class as well. Tennessee could use both their commitments in a big way.
