The Biggest Remaining Areas of Need for Vols’ 2018 Recruiting Class

4. Running Back

The Vols don’t necessarily need a running back immediately for the 2018 season. John Kelly, Ty Chandler, and Carlin Fils-Aime are a capable trio, and there are other rising sophomores such as Tim Jordan and Trey Coleman on the roster.

But Kelly will be gone after the 2018 season, and both Fils-Aime and Chandler could be gone after the 2019 season. So Tennessee needs to add a few running backs in this class.

The Vols currently have one running back committed in their 2018 class in three-star back Anthony Grant from Buford, Georgia. They’re also targeting several other running backs such as in-state back Jeremy Banks and three-star Florida native Jerome Ford. Getting one more commitment to go along with Grant would be big, and nabbing three backs in this class would be solid too.
