Yesterday we took a look at Tennessee’s updated football roster and all the major weight gains and losses from the Vols’ players on the updated roster. Several Vols made some big gains while others dropped down to a more manageable weight.
Today, we take a look at some other changes and updates to the roster.
Tennessee’s updated football roster also included jersey numbers for the Vols’ newcomers and a couple jersey number changes for returners. The new roster also has the height and weight listed for each newcomer to the team, which includes four grad transfers and the rest of UT’s eligible 2018 signees.
As we pointed out yesterday, there are a few changes on the roster worth noting.
Linebacker J.J. Peterson is included on the official updated roster and has a jersey number included on the list. In-state defensive tackle Brant Lawless is not included, however. Tyler Byrd is listed as a wide receiver, while Alontae Taylor is listed as both a wide receiver and defensive back. Bryce Thompson is listed exclusively as a defensive back. Greg Emerson is listed exclusively as a defensive lineman, and Jonathan Kongbo is officially listed as a linebacker. Princeton Fant is listed as a running back, and Eric Crosby is listed as an offensive lineman.
Before we look at the jersey numbers and measurables for Tennessee’s newcomers into fall camp, there are a couple returners who will be wearing a different number this fall than what they wore during the spring. Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Eric Crosby will be wearing No. 66 this season, which is a change from the No. 99 he wore in the spring. Freshman defensive lineman Greg Emerson switched his number from No. 90 in the spring to No. 64 heading into the fall.
