Nathanael: B-

The grade for this group would’ve been a lot higher if not for Austin Pope. In fact, this group might’ve gotten a “B+” from me if not for Pope and a few other missed blocks by the tight ends. The receivers did a good job blocking, and they did a decent job catching as well. Jauan Jennings was more involved this week and led the team in catches. Marquez Callaway showed off some play-making ability again, and Tyler Byrd and Jennings continue to be effective blockers. But Pope’s costly turnover and bad penalty later later really hurt this group. Dominick Wood-Anderson was also held without a catch.

Ben: B

I don’t really have a definitive grade for the receivers and tight ends. Once I go back and watch the game a couple of times, I’ll have a better feel for how they performed. Off the top of my head, I don’t recall a drop. Marquez Callaway had a phenomenal catch and Jauan Jennings looked good. And if I remember correctly, I believe Josh Palmer had a big catch on third down early in the game. As Nathanael mentioned, the group continues to block effectively on the perimeter. On the flip side, the tight ends really struggled to block. As a result of the offensive line needing all the help it could get, Dominick Wood-Anderson wasn’t used as much through the air as I’m sure Tyson Helton would have liked to have used him. In my opinion, Austin Pope’s fumble effects the running backs grade as he lines up at fullback nearly every single time he’s on the football field.
