Jackson Lampley, OL
This one is pretty cut-and-dry: Jackson Lampley is a true freshman interior lineman in the SEC who wasn’t a five-star coming out of high school. He needs some time to mature, gain more strength, and learn UT’s offense.
Lampley has a high ceiling, but he wasn’t even listed on Tennessee’s official Week 1 depth chart. Unless injuries just absolutely deplete UT’s depth on the offensive line, Lampley should be able to use his freshman year as a redshirt season.
The 6-foot-4, 318-pound freshman from Nashville will likely battle for more playing time in his second year at Tennessee, but if all things go well, the Vols won’t need him in 2019.
