Linebacker Daniel Bituli missed the first two games of the season, but he’s vaulted to the team lead in tackles over the last few weeks. His 62 tackles are 14th-most in the SEC, and his 7.75 tackles per game are the fifth-most in the conference. Shawn Shamburger’s 40 tackles are more than he had in his first two seasons combined (30) at Tennessee.

Seven Vols have totaled multiple sacks on the year, and a handful of other Vols have made one sack on the season. Tennessee has 25 sacks as a team this year.

Darrell Taylor also leads Tennessee’s defense in tackles for loss, and he’s tied with three other players for the ninth-most in the SEC. LaTrell Bumphus has a career-high five tackles for loss, and several other Vols have posted career-highs in TFLs this season. There are multiple Vols with at least one TFL not included on this list.

The four interceptions by Nigel Warrior this season are tied for the most by a single player in the SEC. Coming into this season, Warrior had picked off a grand total of one pass in his previous three years on campus.

Bryce Thompson is right behind Warrior with three picks on the year, tied for fifth in the conference. Despite Jeremy Banks no longer being on the roster, he’s still third on the team with two interceptions. Five other Vols have intercepted at least one pass this season.

Forced Fumbles

Tennessee hasn’t forced many fumbles this season, but linebackers have all three of the Vols’ forced fumbles this season.
