Potential Flip Candidates for the Vols in the 2020 Class

Most Probable

Jay Hardy, SDE (Auburn) — No. 113 overall, No. 5 SDE

Morven Joseph, WDE (Florida State) — No. 482 overall, No. 20 WDE

Vai Kaho, ILB (Nevada) — No. 1,446 overall, No. 60 ILB

Tennessee has about three prospects committed to other schools who they currently have a better than decent shot at flipping. These odds could change, as one of these recruits could become less likely or another prospect in a lower tier could become more probable. But as of now, these are the ones I think are the most probable flips for UT.

The most likely of these to flip to Tennessee, in my opinion, is linebacker Vai Kaho. Tennessee is trying to get Kaho in on a visit to Knoxville for the Vanderbilt game, but his high school team is still playing in the playoffs, so that trip may not work out. If it doesn’t, look for him to come in December.

Despite the shock that came with him picking Auburn earlier this month, Jay Hardy still remains a good possibility of flipping to the Vols before National Signing Day. Tennessee’s coaches will have to work extremely hard to pull it off, but the door there is by no means closed.

If UT can get Hardy to come visit Knoxville again and re-up their efforts to strengthen their relationship with him, then Auburn should watch out. The Tigers are difficult to pry recruits away from, though, so this is by no means a guarantee even if Tennessee does do all the right things.

Florida State pass rusher commit Morven Joseph is the third prospect I feel best about flipping to Tennessee. I think the Florida Gators might have a slightly better shot at flipping him, but I still think the Vols are in a good spot with him right now as he prepares for his official visit to UT’s campus this weekend. I’d say his chances are the lowest of these three, but I still like the odds of him flipping more than the other prospects in the lower tier groups.
