Texas A&M vs. Tennessee Game Preview

Coming off of their best performance of the season, Tennessee hosts the Aggies, the number five team in the country. A tough matchup against a team vying for a playoff spot, Texas A&M must continue to roll in order to get votes from the selection committee. For Tennessee, this will be their final game of the season. Their offense has been one of the worst in the SEC, so they will have a difficult time competing with the Aggie offense.

Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano has not played since the Nov. 21 loss to Auburn. Tennessee has made it clear they are looking towards the future as Guarantano has struggled all season. This is his senior year and he will not be back next year. Expect Harrison Bailey to get another start for the Tennessee Volunteers. This will be a difficult setup for the young quarterback to attempt to keep up with the Aggies offense.

Implied Win Probability- Aggies 86.21% Volunteers 18.87%

Implied win probability is a huge stat for the sharp bettor who wants to keep track of their true percent chance to win a bet. Many sharp bettors are able to calculate this in their heads without a calculator. However, when placing a parlay bet, it is a good idea to use an implied win probability calculator. It is important to recognize that the vig is compounded when placing any parlay bet.

For this Saturday’s game, the Texas A&M Aggies are -625 on DraftKings Sportsbook. This would calculate that they have a 86.21% chance to win the game. The Tennessee Volunteers are +430 to win their final game of the season. This would give them an 18.87% chance to win the game. The Volunteers would love to end the season with a victory. DraftKings Sportsbook is charging a 5.08% vig for the game, which is rather high.

Keys to Victory

8 of the last 12 A&M games have gone under. 5 of the last 6 Volunteer games have gone under.

As we can see, these two teams typically go under more than expected. Both defenses are extremely talented and they play hard. Texas A&M should show out and win easily. However, Tennessee has their senior game upcoming and could want to go out with a flair.

Tennessee needs strong quarterback play from the Freshman Harrison Bailey

Assuming Jarrett Guarantano does not start on senior day, the start with go to true freshman Harrison Bailey according to TennesseeCasinos.com. The Texas A&M defense is one of the better defenses in the country. I would expect Tennessee to continue to struggle on offense, regardless this will be the key keeping this one close.
