Thursday night was the unofficial start to football season as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys played in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

The Hall of Fame Game is always the first NFL preseason game and opens up the festivities of Hall of Fame weekend in Canton.

The Steelers defeated Dallas 16-3 and former Tennessee quarterback Josh Hobbs threw a touchdown that put the Cowboys away in the fourth quarter.

Dobbs is entering his fifth season in the NFL. The former UT quarterback is entering his fourth season with Pittsburgh and has played one season with Jacksonville.

The third quarterback to play for the Steelers Thursday, Dobbs completed 4-of-6 passes for 37 yards and one of the two touchdowns in the game.

Dobbs and the Steelers will be back in action next Thursday when they face Philadelphia in their second of four preseason games.
