The Memphis Grizzlies called for the SWAT team on Friday night, and Yves Pons answered on the other end.

Yves Pons is superhuman – but we all already knew that. The former Tennessee Volunteer showed off many of his skills and traits while in Knoxville, ranging from the saxophone to ferocious dunks on the court. After finishing his career as one of the most loved basketball players in recent history, Pons went on to sign an undrafted free agent contract with the Memphis Grizzlies. And it didn’t take long for Pons to show the NBA what he had at Tennessee.

With less than four minutes in the first half, during a summer league game between Memphis and San Antonio, Pons delivered one of his nastiest blocks to date.

Most NBA players can block a shot on the run, but there is only so many that jump so high that they hit their head on the backboard. Yves Pons has added his name to that list.

Pons did not record a point in the game against the Spurs, but he did have the fourth highest plus/minus on the team (+8).  Although, he has averaged 7 PPG in his three summer league games, according to Real GM. The former Tennessee star even started one of those three for Memphis.

If Pons continues to make electrifying plays on the court, he will surely be noticed by the Grizzlies front office. In fact, Yves Pons was responsible for all the publicity surrounding the Grizzlies from that swat.

The NBA just got their notice though. Don’t try to dunk on Yves Pons.
