Tennessee Hosts Official Visitors The Final Weekend Before Early Signing Period

Sugar Bowl Preview: #7 Baylor Vs. #8 Ole Miss

Tennessee hosted five official visitors and one transfer to Knoxville this weekend with the early signing period just days away.

Here’s a recap of all the action.

Christian Harrison, Tennessee Commit

One of Tennessee’s latest commits was on campus this weekend as he plans to sign with the Vols this week.

The son of NFL legend Rodney Harrison ranks as the nation’s 1,077th best player according to 247sports composite rankings.

Gabriel Jacas, Tulane Commit

The South Florida edge rusher officially visited Tennessee this weekend, according to Volquest.com after receiving an offer from the Vols in November.

The Tulane commit ranks as the nation’s 1,201 best player and 61st best edge rusher according to 247sports composite rankings.

Jacas committed to Tulane in July and has officially visited Illinois and Tennessee since.

Chas Nimrod, Tennessee commit

The Arkansas receiver has been a firm Tennessee commit since deciding Knoxville was the place for him in early August. Nimrod only visited Tennessee after his commitment, unofficially visiting for the Tennessee Tech game before officially visiting this weekend.

Nimrod ranks as the nation’s 549th best player and 75th best receiver according to the 247sports composite rankings and will sign with Tennessee this week.

Jared Verse, Albany transfer

The Pennsylvania native had a strong redshirt-freshman season at Albany before deciding to enter the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-4, 247 pound defensive lineman recorded 52 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss this season.

Since entering the transfer portal, Verse has earned offers from Miami, Auburn, UConn, Missouri,  Syracuse, Florida State, Nebraska, West Virginia, Houston, Utah, Purdue, Colorado, Kansas and a handful of other schools.

Verse has officially visited Houston, Florida State and Syracuse as well as Tennessee.

Tyre West, Georgia Commit

The nation’s No. 111 prospect and 20th best defensive lineman was in Knoxville this weekend.

While the Tipton, Georgia native is a Bulldog commit, he seems open to other schools. West unofficially visited Florida State earlier this fall and officially visited Tallahassee the week before.

Justin Williams

The former West Virginia commit made his third visit to Knoxville since earning an offer in October. Williams took in the scene at Neyland Stadium for the Georgia and South Alabama games before de-committing from WVU.

The nation’s 286th best player and 25th best running back plans to announce his college decision on Wednesday and is between Auburn and Tennessee. Williams officially visited Auburn last weekend.
