Nico Iamaleava Releases New Hype Video Talking National Championships

NCAA Football: Tennessee and QB Recruit Nico Iamaleava

“I’m Nico Iamaleava. And I play quarterback.”

The air is buzzing in Knoxville. With the Tennessee Baseball team sweeping No. 1 Ole Miss in Oxford this weekend, Tennessee fans have had plenty to be happy about in the last few days. Now, five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava is giving Vol Nation another reason to smile.

On Sunday afternoon, Vols’ commit Nico Iamaleava dropped a new hype video following his commitment to Tennessee last week. In the video, Iamaleava talks about what it means to be a great quarterback, why he has the tools to do so, and why he believes he can be the quarterback to bring the National Championship back to Knoxville.

“One of my greatest strengths is being able to make every throw,” Iamaleava said in the video. “At 6-foot-6, I’m able to move, get out of the pocket, and yeah. I think I have a full package. For a quarterback, you’ve got to have some swag and confidence in yourself. And yeah, you’ve just got to go make it happen!”

“I definitely think I’m the best quarterback in the class,” Iamaleava said. “I’m definitely trying to be that impact player that brings a National Championship back.”

Tennessee Football: How Tayven Jackson Is Already Impressing His Coaches

Iamaleava, the third-ranked quarterback in the class of 2023 according to On3 Sports, committed to Tennessee on March 21. The five-star quarterback’s commitment was enough to vault Tennessee into a Top 10 position in both 247 and Rivals’ national recruiting rankings going forward.

Last week, Iamaleava spoke about recruiting during an interview. Not his own recruitment, though, but others. As a foundational piece in Tennessee’s class and one of the best quarterback prospects in the nation, Iamaleava is the type of player that could help build one of Tennessee’s most historic classes.

“It’s been fun,” Iamaleava said during an interview with Outkick 360. “I get to build new relationships with a lot of the top players in the class. A lot of players hit me after I dropped my commitment. I think it’s fun, man, just recruiting some guys and seeing how different personalities work from different parts of the country. This whole process has been fun.”

In addition, in an interview with VolQuest, Iamaleava also mentioned five-star wide receiver Carnell Tate and four-star wideout Kyler Kasper as two players that he is actively trying to recruit to Tennessee.

Nico Iamaleava is certainly causing quite the buzz in Knoxville already.
