Four-Star Guard Posts Hype Video Following Visit to Tennessee

Just before landing an elite point guard from the transfer portal on Saturday, Tennessee had another talented point guard visiting campus last week.

On Monday, Apr. 18, Tennessee hosted class of 2023 point guard Aden Holloway. The combo guard is currently ranked as a four-star prospect by On3, ESPN, and 247 Sports.

One week after his official visit to Tennessee, Holloway posted a new hype video and a picture in the Vols’ uniform to his Instagram page.

According to On3 Sports’ consensus rankings, Holloway is listed as the ninth combo guard in the class of 2023, the second-ranked player from the state of Indiana, and the 45th-overall player in the class.

Originally from Matthews, North Carolina, Holloway now plays his high school ball at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Vols are just below the leader from Holloway’s services. Wake Forest current leads the prediction at 42.3 percent with Tennessee and Auburn right behind at 28 percent and 24 percent, respectively.

Standing at 6-feet-tall and weighing in at 155 pounds, Holloway plays with a natural feel for the ball and the flow of the game as a guard. Holloway is a quick, speedy, shifty player that has a knack for driving to the basket and finishing at the rim. The four-star guard can also step back to the outside and hit from range, which is becoming one of the more important aspects of the college basketball game from the point guard position.

Aden Holloway has collected 13 offers to this point according to 247 Sports. Holloway’s offers include Tennessee, Arizona State, Auburn, Cincinnati, Creighton, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Winthrop, and UCLA.

Tennessee and head coach Rick Barnes currently have no players committed to the class of 2023, leaving plenty of room open for opportunities ahead. However, last Thursday, five-star forward Justin Edwards did talk to On3 Sports about what has made Tennessee stand out as he draws closer to a commitment decision.
