By the Numbers: Tennessee’s Starting Pitching Preview

As Rocky Top Insider’s Ryan Schumpert revealed on Wednesday night, Tennessee’s starting pitching rotation for the regular-season series finale is locked in.

Tennessee will have Chase Dollander on the mound Thursday, Chase Burns on the mound Friday, and Drew Beam will round out the rotation on Saturday.

Below are the most recent three appearances for each of Tennessee’s three starting pitchers this weekend:

Chase Dollander

  • vs Georgia (5/12): 6.0 IP, 3 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run, zero walks, 6 strikeouts as the starter
  • at Kentucky (5/6): 4.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, zero earned runs, zero walks, 5 strikeouts in relief of Blade Tidwell
  • vs Alabama A&M (5/3): 0.2 IP, 1 hit, zero runs, zero walks, 1 strikeout in his first return from injury

No. 1 Tennessee (46-7, 22-5) will take on the defending champion Mississippi State Bulldogs (26-27, 9-18) this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday on the road in Starkville. Thursday and Friday’s first pitches are at 7:00 p.m. ET followed by a 3:00 p.m. ET start time on Saturday to close out the regular season.
